The Night Sky on Instagram
I am participating in an SFAI Alumni Exhibition titled The Night Sky that is currently on display on Instagram. My painting titled Moon Magic is one of the many artworks in this show.
HELENA TIAINEN
Moon Magic 2023 | Acrylic painting and collage on canvas | 36 x 18 x 1"
Artist Statement:
Moon Magic is about change and transformation and the magical mystical qualities that the night sky and moonlight and the stars reveal when we see a world very different in appearance than the one we witness in sunlight. For me, night is the time of visions and dreams and nurturing darkness. With the help of electric lights, night has always been my most actively creative and imaginative time, and I love the outer silence that descends when most of the rest of the world is asleep and dreaming.
