Happy New Year 2026!

Almost four months have gone by since I wrote my last blog. In the meanwhile, I have continued making art and living moment to moment in a world that is anything but peaceful and harmonious. What is happening here is for most part beyond my control and at times totally unbelievable, like a nightmare. I am concerned over the soul of humanity with the same old mistakes being repeated. Will we ever learn? Are we beyond hope in our hunger for power and material riches? The older I get the more important moments of just being have become for me. Just sitting and breathing, eyes open or closed, seem to be essential for my sanity these days.
As you may have noticed, we live in a world where people always seem to be rushing and running for something. We are constantly bombarded by messages that tell us we need and must have things we may never even have thought about. We live in an overwhelm of information that our ancestors only one hundred years ago never likely ever imagined.
Regardless of all this, I want to wish you a Happy New Year 2026 and Peace In The World! May you choose happiness whenever this is an option for you.
I am attaching photos of some of my recent works to this blog. These two paintings are in my The Joy of Design series, paintings number 69 and 70. I use Roman numerals for the original acrylic paintings in this series, so, in their titles these are LXIX and LXX. I am also including an image of one of my compilations created with The Joy of Design LXIX scans digitally pasted in numerous orientations. This one is titled The Joy of Design 69 - XOXOXOXOX. As you may know, symbolically X stands for a kiss and O stands for a hug. I have created a number of variations with the XOXO, kisses and hugs combination, some of which are currently posted in my collections at FAA/Pixels. You can view these by clicking on this link: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/helena-tiainen?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=593973 where you can also see a variety of other works created by digitally collaging scans of the originals in my The Joy of Design series. You can contact me with any questions you might have regarding my art. I thank you for viewing! And again, Happy New Year!
